Caught for the cycle on gulps
The 13 year old has been wanting to go pond fishing, so this evening we went. Launched the aluminum Lowe around 6:30pm and paddled around throwing beetle spins. We had a few bumps, but no takers. Tried some topwater.......nothing. Tried various rapalas.....nothing. I decided that we weren't going to be skunked by bream or bass, so I started digging around in the box. Wouldn't you know.....found a partial bag of new pennys. I figured that it couldn't hurt to try, so I snipped off a pinch and tossed it out. The bream were all over it!!! Fished it with no cork or lead and they wouldn't leave it alone. Spent the next 1 1/2 hours catching bream, warmouth perch, bass, catfish and a turtle (it didn't count though). So, in the last week, I have now caught speckled trout, reds, whiting, sailcat, shark, flounder, bream, bass, catfish and perch off the gulp. What a great bait
Anyhow, it was a fun way to spend the evening and now I'm off to bed
so I can make it to Pennsylvania tomorrow morning to do some rainbow trout fishing in the afternoon.

There are words to describe someone who is able to report so much fishing news and then run off ..... to fish some more.
But I shall restrain.
Let me just say that should someone hook up a vacuum meter to your thread I suspect that it would pull a minimum of 30 inches.
Have a good trip
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
