Our first NFGFC tournament

Post by Sea Spot »

White Trash and i checked in with TinCan(nice to meet you John)at Jerry's around 5:45 and headed out in hopes to repeat fridays catch. We started the morning with top water and spinnerbaits and picked up 7 reds in a hurry. The water went still so we used the trolling motor to move around picking up trout here and there. The bite was slow so we fished slow and it paid off .WT caught our big trout (25" 4.13lbs) around 10:00 and the pressure was off.Soon after i added a 24.5 incher. We had our limit by 12:00 so we decided to try for a bigger red.We caught 13 more most were 21-24 inches the biggest 25 inches. With 30 minutes left to fish we made one more drift picking up a great 19.5 inch trout bringing our best one man bag to 11.45 lbs.Luckily it was enough to win , but we both agreed that we were just blessed to have had two great days of good fishing.I enjoyed meeting fellow members at the weigh in and look forward to seeing you all soon. Our total 2 day catch was 40 reds ,37 in slot 2 under and one just over 27 inches.Over 35 limit trout most around 18-19 inches, and a 25",24.5",and two 23".
