Keaton father's day 6/17/07

Post by Breambuster »

My bride and I arrived at the KB marina at around 8.00 am to find the place surprisingly lack of people. I commented to the kid working the lift about a quiet morning. He grined and said I can only believe how bad the traffic was yesterday if I were here. I quickly splashed the boat and found only two other vehicles parked on the roadside.

We took the short cut out the KB channel and start catching bait shortly before 9.00 am. Believe it or not, we made only one drift all day in our 4.5 hr of fishing. The soft southerly wind first took us north parallel to the shoreline and then at around 1.00 pm or so, the inshore breeze took us to shore following the incoming tide. We were in 3-4' water all day.

We ended up about two dozen trout or so, along with an assortment of junk fish. Only 3 or 4 were shorties and several that measured were released.

Without exception, the wife caught the larges fish of the day.

and the final head count.

Mostly live bait. I fished top water with a surface plug for a while and had 4 blow-up but no hook up. Judging by the size of the hole created, I know at least one of them was a good fish. What did I do wrong?

WTG, Guna! I hope you weren't shouting 20 different instructions at her at the same time again while she was calmly landing the fish.

I'm a little hurt you went without me. I assume the motor's squirtin fine.
