Why Post?

I had a friend come down from Tennessee this weekend and he was cracking on me for making post on the website and some of the opinions or comments I made. He also cracked on the "Great job" post too that I make or others make when someone gives a report. So I explained.

I'll comment when I believe I have something to offer, that may be helpful to the poster.

When someone makes a report, I sometimes just comment GREAT JOB

to let whoever posted it know, I read it, and I enjoyed it. I mean after all they took out some time to post it so why not at least take a few seconds to post a response.

As for the number of post people make. I don't think anyone cares who is or is not making the most post. I think that we are just taking advantage of our ability to express ourselves. Otherwise, we might as well live somewhere where the government gives us a fishing report. So for all of you that make post thanks, I enjoy reading them. For those of you who don't make post, I hope you enjoy those that do.

No of fence to Scott down at Jerry's, but it's better to see the reports other anglers post than. Get your live shrimp and CT's and head to Grey Mare Rock.

Posting and looking at the reply had become a great part of the trip.
You guys are all a lot of fun and I learn things reading your posts.

My "its a small world" story was walkinging into Boaters World with a chug bug in hand.
I asked where the split rings were and the guy says,

Are you Bman? I'm SeaTrout99....

I love reading everyones post and try to post up decent info "good or bad" when I post

My it's a small world has happened a couple times now at Mashes Sands, I'll be talking with folks at the ramp and saying where we are gonna try fishing, and they always say "You must be wevans" when I say I might try offshore "in the Bass boat of course"

My stupidity must be getting around

Fishing is making memories. This is a great way for my extended family and friends to share in those memories. This is something my Dad passed on to me and I am passing on to my kids. Good times and good memories.

Fishing is community. I like talking to and hanging out with people who have the same interests and experiences as I do. One of the things that attracted my to bigbendfishing.net was that there were a lot of guys doing what I like to do and were fishing the same places I fish. Common interests, common experiences. Would your friend think the same thing about the NFGFC meetings and tournaments?

Fishing is learning. The thing I love about fishing is how diverse the sport is. You can change up and learn an entire new system just by targeting a different species. This is a great place to learn from those who have been there and know and those who are trying different things as well.

Fishing is fun. How fun is it to see how guys rib each other and carry on with reports, pictures and video. This forum basically extends and preserves the good times had on the boat and shares it with others.

Ok, someone pass the plate....

I listen a lot more than speak. If I think I have something helpful or constructive to say, or something I think is mildly humorous (even if it turns out to be just flat dumb), I'll throw it out there, but usually not if somebody else has already said the same thing.

In other words, if you get a "Good Job" on a fishing report or something, it came from me too.

Extremely upbeat and heartfelt answers = just what I would expect from this crowd! I don't want to live in a world where we cannot share information and kid one another a bit - all part of enjoying life as fishing people and that special kindred spirit of "community" interaction! There will always be naysayers around that do not understand the dedication to a special something one loves and the willingness to pass it on to others! Too bad for them, eh? As time go by and I get to know each of you a little better (& ditto), we will all prosper from the experience, I think!!!
