A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
I've heard from John McBride that they are planning on donating a used LAPTOP as a special raffle item to be given away at our NFGFC meeting on Thursday 06/21/07. I don't have any specifications on the laptop yet but should be receiving them sometime today. I will pass them along when they become available. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF NFGFC for this raffle. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. All you need to do is let me know that you are volunteering as a skipper for the HHA event to be entered into the drawing for the laptop. Fill out and return a brief questionaire to me and you will be included in the drawing. You have two days before the meeting to get your name in the hat so just get er done . Good luck.
Currently included in the drawing (one chance per boat)
Mr. and Mrs Sir Reel
Capt Reggie
CAPTAIN CHARLIE
Steve Stinson
Rodbow (probability 7 on scale of 1-10 WHAT SAY YE RODBOW??)

As previously promised, here are the details associated with the laptop to be given away to a lucky skipper. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT AT THE DRAWING TO WIN It's been pointed out that this is not a true raffle because no fees are required to enter. All you need to do is offer to take out one of our local anglers (on your boat) who may be physically challenged in some way. Although I had indicated that the free drawing would be conducted at the meeting tonight, we are considering moving that closer to the June 30th event to allow any skippers who sign up before the event to be included. If you are considering, PLEASE, do it as soon as possible to facilitate the matching process with the folks who want to go. Regardless of when the drawing happens here's the specifications on the laptop:
The laptop is a (used) Dell CPt
Celeron 500, 6 GB HDD, 128 MB SDRAM, Windows 2000, Office 2000, has modem card and network card, CD-ROM, floppy drive, etc.
Not a monster machine but great for a lot of what folks use computers for.
If you have any questions, you can contact me, or attend the meeting tonight.

Would like to thank John and his father Blan McBride for the donation of the laptop to be awarded to one of the lucky skippers in the HHA event. I had an opportunity (I should say my wife did) to check out the laptop last night and it's a nice unit. We have decided to establish the cutoff for volunteering your services on Monday. All names of the skippers will be placed into a pool and a winner drawn. So, if your thinking about participating, don't delay any longer and let me know. We can still use some more skippers. With the number of folks on the forum who are capable, we should be able to provide more rides to those who aren't as fortunate so lets show the community what this forum is all about.

HEY BUD, I WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT IN THIS VENTURE BUT I WILL BE OUT OF COMMISSION FOR A FAIRLY LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THE MRI I TOOK YESTERDAY INDICATES THAT I WILL HAVE TO HAVE AN OPERATION ON MY NECK AND SHOULDER. WE HAVE TEMPORARYLY SCHEDULED FOR TUES. OF NEXT WEEK DEPENDING IF THE OPERATING ROOM IS AVAILABLE. GOOD LUCK ON GETTING NEW ANGLERS OUT ON THE BIG POND.
