St. Marks 6/24/07

Post by birddog »

Got a chance to take a good friend of mine flats fishing for the 1st time today. We launched from the LH around 6:30. Checked some rocks offshore aways with no luck moved in to some taller structure and found some nice trout. Quickly put 7 over 20" in the boat. Caught them on soft jerkbaits.

Moved into a creeks looking for a good red or 2. No luck, just a few pups. It was hotter than hell so we took a long boat ride to cool off and found ourselves near a flat that has been holding decent reds lately. Set up a drift and we quickly put a couple of reds in the boat. Repeated the drift a few more times with more reds as well as a couple more nice trout.

Back on the trailer by 2:30. Had a great time. Thanks for tagging along Doc.

Can't wait til next time.
