Hi All!
I'm really excited about my upcoming 1 week vacation to the Big Bend, my favorite place in the world! Its been too long since my last visit.
My wife and I will be towing our camper with our small jon boat in the truck bed. We are considering a stay at the Econfina River RV Resort and would appreciate any positive or negative info you may have.
We like to slowly putt up and down river, a little fishing, sightseeing and photography. Sound like a good base camp?
Thanks a million!

I love this board. You're a great bunch of folks.

Sounds like a good plan to me  :D Your jon boat should allow you to move back into some of the side creeks and even out side the month of the river along the grass when the weather permits. Good luck and let us know how your vacation works out. :D If you have an opportunity to contact "RHTFISH" he is down there sometimes on the weekend but regardless he would be a great source of information for you.

CHECK OUT HICKORY MOND UNIT JUST EAST OF YOUR PROPOSED CAMP SITE. THERE IS A LIITLE SPOT FOR UNLOADING A BOAT BACK THERE. THIS WILL GET YOU A LITTLE FURTHER DOWN THE COAST LINE WITHOUT A LONG BOAT RIDE.

You guys are great! Thanks so much.
I'm headed down after the holiday in July. Hopefully I'll have my week before any Gulf tropical storms brew up.
I'll post back about how much fun we had. The last Big Bend vacation, several years ago, was unforgetable.

:smt006 Make sure you check the tides out really well...low tides in those creeks can still put you hi & dry, even in a small boat!!! Other than that, come on down and enjoy the Ecinfina River = go up for small bass (some are related to the smallmouth...called "Redeye") & bream (Strawberry Bream are the most beautiful & eat mighty fine) and down for redfish, flounder, & trout! Have fun. :lick:

Come on down to "our little piece of heaven."

There are several "troubled village people" in the campground
behind the store...only a few are currently on MOST WANTED LIST...
great folks with lots of experience in the area. Introduce yourself
and they'll be glad to share!

Hope to see you down there soon!
