BAD BEHAVIOR ST GEORGE WEEKEND

Post by BAD BEHAVIOR »

[/img]Well , after renting a house on the bay for the weekend to meet a couple of friends down @ St George, I started calling all my buddies for a free fishing trip, all expenses paid. I really need to find me some better fishin buddies cause I wound up fishing solo. Ive never fished solo before but all I can say is my boys missed some awesome fishing!!! I started out Thursday evening with a way too big to land black drum. Got him to the boat and he broke me off when I tried to net him. Im guessing 30 lbs, huge!! Realizing I needed a new game plan, I got one of my friends there to fish with me Friday. Only got to fish a couple hours before we had to meet his wife and my girlfriend for beach activities( total waste of time in my opinion, never have been much of a beach bunny!!!) Saturday took another buddy and his son out. I was totally surprised @ how well he had taught his 5 yr old how to fish. The little guy hung in there all day and put as many fish in the boat as either of us did. Most kids are completely content with a cork and a gulp but when he saw me pull out the catch 2000, he said he wanted one too!! We proceeded to waste the trout on the catch 2000s and called it a day. Sunday I headed out solo. Started slow ,no wind , no current :smt013 :smt010 .Did a little playing with the boat with the slick water and got her to 54 mph (GPS). Decided to move to a bar I used to fish a couple of years ago. Wound up putting 29 trout in the net from 17" to 25". Moved on to the red hole about 5:30. Thirteen reds by 7:45.The biggest red was a touch over 31". All in all , one of my most awesome trips ever. Brought home two limits of trout, 2 reds, a flounder, and one huge mullet we caught throwing the cast net for bait. I only used one and a half bags of gulp the whole weekend. No fish were caught on live bait. the two reds I caught and brought home were 25 1/4 " and 26 13/16". The bigger red weighed 7 lbs 2 oz. Also caught a few blues , several sharks :smt011 and more ladies than I care to remember!!! Has anyone ever caught sharks on a Papa dog?? Foul hooked one about 2 foot long, thought I had a whale!!! Only three or four catfish, all on gulp!! :-D Maybe next time I decide to throw an all expense paid weekend, Ill post it on the site since none of my buddies have time for a little BAD BEHAVIOR any more!!!! Personal totals for the weekend, 50+ trout, 13 reds, two flounder(one was short),and the bull mullet. Thats the only time I can ever remember being so tired after a weekend I could drive by Ecky on the way home and not go tangle with a red or two!!!!

BB,

I hooked a 6' bull shark on a topwater mirrorlure (one with props on front/back) in 1.7' of water near the tip of Cape San Blas. It was late evening and fish were exploding on schools of bait. I had just boated a 7.5# red, a big Jack Crevalle, and a 3# trout in all this melee. This thing came out of nowhere!!! When he hit, the water just opened up and seagrass and silt went everywhere. Fought him for about 20 mins. (followed him w/trolling motor) and he finally broke off after 2 spectacular jumps. After that, no more wading or scalloping for me!!! :o

blow -up

I HAD A 6-7', 200#+, SOMEKIND OF SHARK BLOW UP ON A CREEK CHUB. IT WAS LIKE SOMEONE DROPED A GRANADE IN FRONT OF ME. IT STILL BAFFELS ME HOW THAT BIG THING WAS ABLE TO SNEAK UP ON THAT LURE IN 2 - 3' OF WATER, WITHOUT ME SEEING SOME INDICATION THAT HE WAS IN THE AREA.
