Shark Story - Whoa Nelly what a fish fry.

Anyone remeber or ever hear about this? I know one of the guys that was there and helped him get it on shore. He was actually in up to his waste when the shark came in and the dorsal fin showed for the first time. He got out pretty quick.

PANAMA CITY BEACH - Doug Eldridge stressed that the next time he hooks into a large shark, it strictly will be with tag and release in mind.
Sunday night at the Dan Russell Pier, however, after three hours and 35 minutes of fighting an 11-foot mako shark, he was thinking more about stocking his freezer.

Eldridge, 51, said he hooked into the 780-pound shark about 11 p.m. It was nearing daybreak by the time his son, Kyle, 14, finally brought the fish to the pier and a group of about eight other men could help load it on a trailer. Doug Eldridge said he does a lot of fishing for sharks off the city pier. He was using a 12/0 Penn reel with 150-pound test line when the mako took a king mackerel bait.
