Dog Island 8/19

Post by Littoral »

High tide early. Plenty (~25) of big Ladyfish and Blues. The Blues went to 3.5 lbs. One Houndfish that went ballistic. That’s always fun. Almost all were caught on a blue/silver Chug Bug. We tried a lot of other tactics with less success. The fish were not concentrated but we had the most action on the bayside of the shoal. In by 10 AM.
No Spanish or Trout.

Agreed. I planned to work that site but it ain't my boat. My colleague (with the boat) loves fast silver critters chasing topwater so Dog Island is often the primary target. We had plenty of those & a great time -which was the point.
