Before I write this report I need to thank two people. First is Chalk, he told me who to contact to fish the Fort Walton area. Next I need to thank Jacknasty. He's the one who told me about the new places I fished this past week, and had an absolute blast. I've fished in Fort Walton before but with not as much luck as I had this time. JN said to put in at the Liza Jackson boat ramp and target the flats to the west and he was right. That little bit of info was priceless. Fished three days in a row with my brother in law whose a bass fisherman. We caught fish all three days. Turned him on to some Reds, Trout, Ladys, Flounder and a few Cats and Pinfish of course. All on artificial. Second day we had a slam of Reds, Trout and Flounder. One of the highlights was a huge school of Jacks came crashing through the flat and busting mullet like crazy. Had to be close to 200 in the school. No hook ups on any of them but some where well over two feet in length. Mullet were flying five to six feet out of the water and even crashing onto the shore. It was killer. All in all we had 8 reds, countless trout from 10" up to 25" and of course plenty of the others that I mentioned. Here's a few pics.
Hey, that's great man. I'm glad I was able to help, even if it was just a point in the right direction. I hope you guys had a blast and it sure looks like you tore em up
I forgot to tell you about those Jacks. It seems like they cruise through everytime I'm not ready for them. They are cool to watch though.
