Home made Marker Bouy for inshore...

Post by bman »

After bottom fishing with some friends a few months back I kept thinking about the marker floats they used.
They were too big to use inshore but I wanted something like them.

This morning I had a brain fart and came up with this...

Image

FunOodle, Left over PVC, Old fishing line spool, weight off a duck decoy and a nut and bolt.

It works- with about 20' if line.

I'm sure there will be some refinements...

It's Saturday morning and I wish I was fishing-
But, I'm off to show houses!

AHA! Now I know where all the fish are in your pool.......

Only thing I question is if the bolt is heavy enough to not drift in rougher water......

Good concept, but will the line peel off fast enough from that tiny spool? It seems it could easily bind and get tangled...

Looks good Barry. But if you want to draw a crowd throw out a buoy in our inshore waters.

One of the old well known guides from Perry would throw the marker, fish one drift or maybe two, he would wait for the flotilla to show up.

Then he would drive off with his clients for a great day of fishing anywhere but there. :o

Try it you'll like it.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

That maybe where the decoy weight comes in. Just run along, stop and give a few fake rod bends toss the bouy and haul arse to where you really want to fish and find it devoid of boats. Good thinking Barry.
