More at http://www.wftv.com/news/13698118/detail.htmlI don't know how many of you follow bass fishing, especially competetive bass fishing but I'm sure ya'll have picked up a copy of Florida Fishing weekly or Woods and water. You have likely read an article or two or two hundred written by Tim Tucker. I found out a couple hours ago that Tim was killed in an auto accident on I 75 near Gainesville this afternoon.
Tim is one of the most published outdoor writers ever. Being a fan of good outdoor writers I have often marvled at how much stuff Tim had out there. Weekly columns for Florida Fishing Weekly, about a zillion different news papers, several internet outlets including his own website, a Senior writer for Bassmaster Magazine... his stuff is everywhere and covers nearly every subject you can think of with regards to bass fishing from how to rig a worm to how to land sponsorship deals as a proffessional angler. I can't believe that I have seen his stuff so many places but never have seen the same article in two publications.
I never met the man but I know a couple people that are very close to him and his family and the things he did to help them with their fishing careers and in their personal lifes were quite significant.
I encourage ya'll to look around and find an article he wrote... (it won't be hard to find one) and think about how quickly anyone, be it a talent like Tim or some dork you call freind, can be gone. It's got me thinkin I need to touch base with some friends and say hi.
The fishing community lost a good one today.
