Alligator Harbor 7-22-2007

Post by jsuber »

Went fishing with CapnCrunch (Gafftop) and Talltails. We tried launching at Ochlocknee Bay with 15-20 mph East winds and 3-4' seas. A short trip. We left and went to Alligator harbor back up in the armpit. Talltails caught a Trout 17", CapnCrunch caught a 15" flounder and a GAFFTOP, and I caught a Redfish 27" on Mirrolure Top Dog Jr silver and bone and one Croaker. Not bad for a windy day.

We were up in the skinny end. Talltails saw one or two greyhound but it was too windy to hunt Tarpon. Our plan was to hit some big Reds and it turned into a Plan B day.

Nice Jeff, the house just above the fishes head in that pic is the one I stayed in last week. Looks like ya'll were not far from the landing.
You gonna talk, or you gonna fish?

The huge pods of tarpon along with the LYs/pelicans have been gone for almost 2 weeks now. They are down around IP from what I hear. We thought about taking the Hewes over sunday but just stayed at the point and caught some shallow water gags.
