Well as they say better late than never. Started the day before sun up and long before anyone even thought of launching. Headed out and East through a very smoky morning, which seemed to obscure all visability to past Gray Mare. With nothing but one large Rock Bass hitting MJ's line we proceeded to fish various depths to 11 feet with nothing much happening. MJ got a pinfish and decided to let it swim for a while till Mr. Shark happened to try it on for Breakfast. After two of these and only one keeper trout, and several smaller ones, we headed off to a point we had marked to try for some Scallops. Well it seems after MJ got in, I tried it finding out that for one thing, I am not as young as I used to be along with not being able to get deep enough to get any. Well it was my first time anyhow. and thanks to MJ getting all we needed within 30 feet from the boat.
We ended up with a huge sack full of Scallops and decided to clean them while out there, and low and behold after a morning of cloudy skies and small droplets of rain falling what happens. The wind dies and the sun comes out to create a wonderful sauna effect while we are sitting still cleaning Scallops. We got our limit thanks to MJ and got them cleaned and headed in for the day. Even with all the chum in the water the little fishies were eating wonderfully, but it did not attract anything larger than MJ when he lost his spoon overboard, Twice. Think he was just cooling off. Anyway back to the Ramp, to see more boat ramp fun, seem MJ's post.
All in all a great day to be on the water and great fellowship with one who has shown this new Captain a lot. Thanks MJ!!
