Wife and I made it to the ramp around 9am. Was surprised at the low number of vehicles and trailers already there. Weather was pretty good considering what we've had to deal with the past couple of weekends. :D Bought some live shrimp and headed out to the first platform. Wind was out of the East South East and blowing fairly strong but still not a problem. After hearing about all the grass folks have been seeing was again surprised that there was very little (in my opinion). The water in addition to still being very stained contains more suspended particles than I ever remember seeing. When the sun hits it just right it looks so thick you would think you could walk on it sort of like seeing dust in the sun light. We took one drift with very little action other than pin's. Since the wind was out of the East I decided to run to Rock Island and drift back. We got there about 45 min before low tide and I ran to the East side of the Island and anchored up close to the shore and started casting in and floating shrimp up towards the bank. We had no takers for about 30 min so I pulled up and headed out just South of the Island to start another drift. The wind had changed some and we started drifting more North Westerly. I pulled up and headed out into deeper water to drift back. Up till now we had caught one large Lady fish and a couple of cats. I could tell my wife was getting bored so I took off the jig She had been working on the bottom and put on a regular weedless weighted worm hook. I put a split shot about 12 inches above it then cut off the tail of one of the shrimp to keep it from spinning and threaded it on so the shrimp would look natural being drifted on the bottom. First cast She brings in a real nice 18 inch trout. She added one more plus a nice Rock Bass before we headed in. I managed to catch one 18 incher using a CT to go with her catch. The bite was definately slow but still better than it has been(again just my opinion). We also caught a blue, a couple of big sail cats, and a baby shark releasing all of them.
The trout were very dark!! The yellows and golds were really pronounced. We also saw shrimp jumping in a couple of places when we were headed to Rock Island. No rain, everything worked, still had all the pieces I left with... so we were happy with the day.

SR, I thought it was one of your requirements to break something. Now you have nothing to work on this week.

Glad you and the wife had a good day.
What was I supposed to do today?

TC your right about not break'n stuff.... but just check out my "Good Wed Morning"..... I don't need anything else for a while.

However!!! :o I noticed my power tilt is act'n a bit funny. When I bring it all the way up to the limit and then hit the switch to go back down the electric motor clicks (sort of like a starter with a low battery). If I keep click'n it.. I can see the motor drop just ever so slightly and if I keep it up 5 or 6 times it eventually runs and the motor goes down just fine. Know very little about the system. If any body has some experience let me know. Don't know if it is hydraulic or electrical in nature but need to start educating myself on it.

Great report SR. I've had the solenoid to the trim pump go out and it clicks just like a starter solenoid on a car. That was on older systems. Had a Merc. once that had two solenoids for up and down that were the same as Ford starter solenoids.
