WOW :o checked this thread this morning and was shocked at the number of folks expressing an opinion. I shared with someone in a PM that I probably didn't do a very good job of expressing what I wanted to, so let me offer another attempt. BUT FIRST..... let me say after reading ALL of the posts in this thread, I don't find any of them that I disagree with! BBF.Net has been and is a special group and I want it to stay that way. And yes, because of this forum and the relationships that have come to me through it, I'm a better fisherman now, with respect to this area, than I was 4 1/2 years ago. I hope I can claim that I've been both a consistent supporter and active participant of this forum and in keeping with that thought,,, here is my 3,998th post: :D

Initially, I probably didn't do a very good job of expressing what I wanted to, but the folks who may agree (if there are any) may not respond and that's OK. And then there's always the chance that I'm way off base. :o

It wasn't just one thread that concerns me. It's just my view (apparently singly) but over the past few months, perhaps even longer, I feel like the rhetoric in some of the threads have, on occasion, been getting more and more of a contrarian, bad boy, in your face flavor that hasn't been just good natured ribbing (imo). I'm concerned that that may be what some users find appealing (perhaps without even knowing it) which would promote that direction. Now I love a good jab at someone's expense and although I haven't had to take any recently, there certainly have been some  This time of year there are probably dozens of school age lurkers reading the posts from home. That prospect along with the rhetoric, I referred to earlier, being exchanged on the forum by "sportsmen" concerns me as well. Chalk does a good job as moderator but he has a difficult job in that he must establish an objective impartial view and I know that would be tough. I just believe we can improve the content tone even within the limits that the moderator would take. Thanks for all the responses and I'll step down from the box now. Have a good day to you all.

Sir Reel,
I have read this lengthy post and I still can't figure out what you're talking about. Please share with me (us) what you percieve to be the problem and please use "quotes" from other posts to substantiate your concern. WTF?

Good morning Algaegator.

I'm not sure that would serve anyone's best interest besides being very labor intensive for me. If you don't feel that the concerns I have expressed are valid then let's just leave it at that and say that my impressions probably don't reflect any general feeling held by others.

On that point he is correct. :smt005
