St. George Island

Post by Billy GoDowns »

Me and my family will be makeing our regular trip to St. George for the Labor day weekend. I have never carried the boat and just have fished from the beach, but this year we are going to have a house on the bay with a dock near the east pass. Any good areas to try on that end of the island for reds and trout? :smt004

A friend loves fishing that pass- pomps, trout, reds according to him.

I have fished west of the cut and done well on reds and trout.

Don't forget the bridge for sheepies and drum....

"Does the Pope live in the woods? Is the bear Catholic?"

Try a live pinfish on the bottom inside the cut on a rising tide. Plenty of grass flats on the bay side -jigs, live shrimp, Gulps.... You might try for pompano on the gulf sides around the jetty.... There's plenty of fish in that area. Take a camera...
