Fished with my dad East of the Aucilla in shallow around bars for the first two hours of the day...collectively had two hits and zero fish at 9 a.m. Moved out to some deeper water, 3-6', as the tide began to come back in and caught 3 keepers, 21", 18", 16.5". Around 10:15, the fishing slowed and we ran out 5 miles and fished in 10-12' of water...it was a waste of time as we caught 2 undersized trout in an hour and a half of fishing. Moved back in to 5'-7' and caught our remaining two keepers, 19" and 17", between 12 p.m.- 1 p.m. Had one come unglued at the boat that would've gone 23"+, but that's fishing...
We caught all of our fish on 1/8 oz. jigs with 5" jerkshads. No twitchbait or topwater fish the whole day.
It was a slow, but fun day on the water with the old man...we finished 3rd with 8.63 lbs. of trout. I guess I missed the memo that Carrabelle was the place to fish...
Great job of fishing on a tough day Casey....We had the same struggle but today I've got to get on the lawnmower, guess where I'd rather be. I know your Dad appreciates that fishing time with his son...again, Good job !
Good showing Casey Congrat's to everybody who fished the tournament Saturday. Regardless of whether you caught fish or not that was a super effort in the heat
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
