Over $500 worth of prizes........

Post by Jumptrout51 »

Tonights NFGFC meeting concluded with over $500 worth of great prizes given in the raffle.
Everyone there won something. Most won several somethings.
Next month should be even better.
Next tournament is out of Carrabelle on September 8.
Bonus fish is worth $400 thanks to Jay Evans,Badcock and More,Adel,Cairo,Camilla, Georgia.
Cookout and door prizes following the weigh in.
Carrabelle inshore fishing should be ON FIRE this time of year.
Hope to see everyone there.

 I become more impressed with this club after every meeting! Believe me, I've been in some clubs and, well, they don't rock. But this one definitely serves the purpose to Higher Authority. First of all, thank you, Scott, for a refreshing look at that well worn out area around St. Marks, East & West flats areas. It really is nice to know there are "jewels" in some hidden spots away from the masses. Also, you run a very fine business at Jerry's and we are extremely fortunate to have you as a sponsor, as well as a friend! And, now that I mentioned that - thanks to all our sponsors who keep providing all those wonderful "toys" for our enjoyment through the club raffles. You folks should know that there are darn few clubs out there with that much $ in their treasury! Steve and the rest of the club officers are doing a superb job running this club.

To be honest, I have never been big on tournaments, but ya'all are beginning to change my mind...maybe I've become too overwhelmed with BASS and other tourney's where the whole crowd and commercialization thing just turns me off. Here, however, I see a "family" oriented objectivity to these gatherings where just fishing for fun is promoted ahead of the "God almighty dollar" thesis (although, some people are still worried about that money thing). That's impressive guys! I'm in!!!

In fact, that crazy TallyFly guy has answered my call, so he and I are teaming up for the next tournament in Carrabelle to fish ONLY our fly fishing equipment in the tournament. Now, ain't that something? Sure, why not literally = "put your money where your mouth is" - means we fish it, just like everybody else, except with fly fishing stuff. And, hey, no dunking the flies in that Gulp stuff, either! Well, maybe some garlic juice or something like that? I actually had a fishing partner years ago that couldn't fish for bass without spraying that smelly stuff on his lures. I used to ask him, "what are you doing, keeping the vampires away from your hook"? It made me want to warm up some pasta, make a spaghetti sauce, and get out the EVOO (you have to watch Rachel Ray to appreciate that one)!

Well, enough said for today on that subject. But, those of you out there in BBF.Net land and not on board yet - come on in and join our club...hey, it's a happening and we have it going on!
