Some of you folks are headed out on Saturday, thought I would give you my report from today.

Started at 8:15 from the lighthouse til 1:15. Caught a 26.5" on the first drift at about 9:15 in 5' kept him. The next 3 hours produced 25 more trout and only 2 were under sized. let all of them go. One large is enough to clean. Caught grunts, 1 bonnethead, one rock bass that I wanted to keep but he was 10.25" and I was afraid of shrinkage. Am I right about 10" limit?

Caught the shark under a CT w/live shrimp. Tried everything else for trout but they were all caught on a surecatch grub w/fb, lime green, pink, and fat white w/red tail(big boy?)

Water was still stained but very little floating grass. Went up in Stoney Bayou on the incoming. If this is you I am sorry, but, some idget in a gold duracraft decided to fly throuhg WOT about 30 feet away as I was working the bank in the bayou. White hats, talking loud, only to get practically stuck later. He stayed atotal of 10 minutes in the bayou. I was nice and did not buzz him on the flats on the way out. What a dip.

All in all a beautiful day. Wish you all luck on Saturday.

db,

Good report, 26.5 inch trout, that's a monster.
Your right about the 10 inch rule on rock bass.

When I went out Monday, we had similar success, hopefully
the fall bite will stay. I also liked how few shorts there were
maybe all those little ones from the spring grew up.

Good trip db. We didn't do as good, but I'm sure we had just as much fun. We couldn't do much on grubs. We tried the colors you mentioned. Also we still found plenty of shorts at Keaton, but it's improving from what it has been the summer.

That's where all the big 'uns went. I got nothing but short specks on Saturday. Also got a few small sharks, large cats, and pinners. Caught a whole mess of reds around the bars. Most of the reds are short, but some are a good size. There are some sizable sheepshead moving around, too.
