Dad and I got out on the water about 7:15 right at sun up today. Great weather. Tide was really low today. Got out and dad hooked gator trout first thing. He got off at the boat. We spent about three hours out and boated about 10 trout, some lady fish and one small cobia. No love for the Gulp today. Much love for topwater. Everything was caught on topwater. Dad had a large Cobia come up and take a bite out of his CT but wouldn't touch the Gulp shrimp under it. Bait was everywhere today. The bay was in constant motion. It was great watching our top water lures take trips sailing through the air all morning. Great morning on the water. Couldn't have asked for better weather. You can see in the pictures.
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
Didn't check it HNM. We were in 2 to 3 feet all day. When we are that shallow with bait jumping everywhere I don't worry as much about the water temp.
I was more worried about running out of water. Low Tide at 8:30 AM and then we had a north wind pick up. All of Shell Point Reef was high and dry. Never seen it like that. When we were coming back in to the Panacea Marina I was in the channel and looked down and we went from 9ft deep really quick up to 2ft and then back to 9ft. That'll make the ol' belly button pucker up a little.
