Had to get out ahead of this wind and try the new power pole (which is very nice, thanks BD and Nole for advice). Took my work to the coast by inviting a colleague. No better way to concentrate away from phones etc...

Met a very low low and a stiff N wind, so all morning we were punting scallops with the trolling motor in 18" of water or less working pockets. Managed about 15 or so trout, but only 3 fat 19ers for the box. Lost some on TW that were bigger. Skitterwalks, spooks and top dogs.

Highlight of the day was some nice sized reds, several on TW and sight fished. Boated 8 or so. The largest doing a head stand the whole way to the boat cutting up the bottom like a prop.

Dropped partner off at the ramp at 2 and ran back out for some rise, birds still on mud at shore. Rise brought is enough floating grass to make weedless not. Maybe this weekends winds will blow it off shore

Snuck around with Longpole for 2 hours, and spooked a few fish with it. Dang it was gin clear. Couldn't wait around till the fall so packet it in at 5.

Lots of jacks and macks around too...it is that magic time

Congrats on the PP and on the fish. Some of you guys are seriously kicking my booty in the "toys" dept. I'm gonna have to do something about that. 8)

nice day-
I have experienced the red "head stand"
I think they must be rubbing the lure like they would a crab...
I can see a big blue claw grabbing a reds lip... then rubbing it on the bottom to get it to let go.
