Talquin 9/29/07

Post by tin can »

After much deliberation, I made the decision to go to Talquin today. My son drove down from South Carolina just to fish today. Given the tides and wind, I felt we stood a better chance of catching a few fish on Talquin.

The day started slow. Hit a spot, catch 1 fish. At 11 we had boated 4 keepers. I finally moved to my honey hole of late, knowing I was going to have to fight the wind. The spot produced 8 more fish. That gave us a total of 12 for the day, all released to fight another day.

It doesn't matter where we go, or what we catch, I always enjoy having my son in the boat.

Glad to see you had a good day out there. It was a little windy out there in the Gulf, so you probably made a good decision to go fer the bass.

My son always looks out for me, Wevans. He's already told his mother that he is to be the first one called if I die. He has already made plans that he and his best friend will be headed this way with 2 trucks. He has assured his mother that he will take the two boats and all of the fishing equipment to a safe location (in South Carolina) so no one will have the chance to steal it. He has also asured his mother that the 3 people that show up for my funeral will fully understand his intention when they see the boats behind the trucks at the funeral.

It's very comforting to have a son that will take care of me.
