Amazing boat rides with tackle incuded.
The last three weekends I have been at my buddies annual beach house rental at Mexico Beach.
With only the one foray to Crooked Island the rest of the time has been spent in St. Joe Bay.
Each day I would fish a few hours six at the most. I am thinking there must be more there.
This is my third year there, I have fought red tide the last two. This year I fought the tide and weather.
Either very high or very low, several major fronts and full moon as well, I think they fed at night.
It does not console me no one I talked to did well other than some folks that did the Mack thing.
I cannot believe I did not boat a single Red this year, nor a keeper trout.
About a dozen six to ten inch Gag Grouper, Sixty Lady fish, a bunch of Sharks, My first ever Mangrove Snapper, (I think).
Some Spanish Mackerel's, a pile of short Trout and an exciting new species to me.
I was trolling the edge of a tide rip with a spoon and hooked something yesterday morning.
This thing came unglued I heard the splash and turned to see my rod bent in half.
Out of the water it came about three or four feet awesome Tarpon maybe? Monster Lady fish?? Is it a Shark???? Bow to the king it's jumping again.
No it is a large Ray hooked in the wing and that bad boy is getting some air. It jumped about a dozen times.
I am in the boat by myself and thinking that Steve Irwin deal would be a bad way to go but it was released to fight another day.
The dog flies were pretty bad this year. I talked to some guys that got caught out in a small boat at the car bodies and it got rough.
All in all while I was not king of the dock I caught a few fish, the boat did well and other than losing a trolling motor prop and a nice pair of sunglasses it went OK.
The top water bite never got good, I did buy the pink Skitterwalk which did fair at best, It was taken away from me yesterday.
I am not sure by what. I had a good strike and then it was gone.
Some fish were caught on spoons, some on grubs, top water, suspending baits and a few trolling a bass style crank bait.
I did bring the boat back I am through with that area for this year.
I will go back to my happy hunting grounds Spring Warrior Creek.
I will catch some decent fish that are big enough to keep.
I will put in at tough ramps. dodge rocks, and Oysters.
I may slide to the west and try some of you guys holes.
I will continue to wonder will I ever get that area to cooperate?
I don't know anything more
to say except What A Mess

Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?
Sounds like most of my fishing trips.
Everytime I hook one of those rays I think about keeping one. I hear the wing meat is real good to eat. Once I bring them ugly things to the boat I change my mind though.
Spring Warrior is my neck of the woods, see ya out there.

If we are not supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?
