A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
I just got an e-mail from Garmin announcing a blue chart update...
Anyone else?
Wondering if its worth the time to request it....
I would post the e-mail but there was this menacing footer saying that it was their property and not to be sent to anyone else... bla bla bla they will sue me

I liked it so much, I bought the company
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
Just a way to get into customers pockets again in my opinion. They all get their data from NOAA., and I have not seen any earthshattering changes in NOAA charts in the last few years....
Probably mostly corrections.....
Typical of software makers nowadays. Charge the customer for corrections THEY should have got right to begin with...

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.

I quite agree - nowhere on the mailing I received did I see the $75 price tag -- it appeared a free update like a bug fix, until I went through the hassle of trying to install it and eventually calling Garmin customer service.
I will let this one pass based on youall's comments that there is not likely much new in the update.

There may be a $75.00 fee, per region, to unlock this update based on the date your original version of BlueChart was unlocked. Please keep in mind, updates are not required. Garmin recommends that you review the changes that have been made to ensure they are relevant to your needs.
