It was a tough day.

We left Jack's at 0715 and went up the Flint to my number 1 spot. The first bite came at 0800. A whopping 10.5" bass. :-?

We moved several times diring the day to find nothing.

My next bite came at 3:30 in the afternoon. This one was a huge 12.5" bass. OK, I ain't skunked, and I have 20 minutes left to fish. My partner got his first bite of the day at 3:45. Another 10" fish.

We had 8 people fishing this tournament. The winner had 5 fish totaling 5.3 pounds. Second place had 3 fish totaling 3.5 pounds. Third place was 1 fish weighing 1.14 pounds. I finished 7th with my 1 fish, weighing 0.78 pounds.

Ya gotta take the bad with the good.

I was supposed to fish the federation out of sneads but my partner and I chose hunting instead. I think it only took 17lbs for two days to win!!!

I haven't heard the final results, but, at the end of the day Saturday, the leader had 10 pounds. It wouldn't surprise me if 17 pounds won it. Last week's weather did a number on everyone.

I don't feel so bad about my Saturday now. I went to Miccosukee thinking that I might get a bass to jump on a frog in the lily pads. I didn't see any fish moving at all and almost no baitfish activity. I tried flipping a Baby Brush Hog for a while with similar results.

The folks at Big Jim's sitting next to us at lunch said they hadn't caught a fish all day Sat and they were at least dressed like serious fisherman. Sounds like a tough day 4 sure.

The bite was good first and last hour of light. Bug Candy or something like that (purple) trick worm w/ no weight was the ticket in the pads next to shore lines. Unfortunately I could only get them to hit on 6lb test and I lost more than I got to the boat. Weather sure was nice.

It hurts me that I was out there working hard all day, suffering, while you were doing couch time. Ya shoulda been out there with us.

On a side note, it's a wonder there is any vegitastion still planted in that lake. Every blade of vegitation has been fished at least 20 times in the past week.

There's a BFL tournament on the lake this weekend. I hope they don't mind fishing second hand water.
