Got up this morning and noticed schools of "bait fish" cruising the beach. I got the binoculars out and saw that those were not bait fish. I grabbed a couple of rods, one with a gold spoon and one with a skitter walk, and took my son and daughter down to the beach. Second cast I had a big blue. I handed the rod to my son (7 years old) and let him reel him in. By the time he got him in there was a small crowd gathered. They cheered as he pulled the blue onto the beach. He was the hero. Little sister (4) was pretty impressed as well. We spent a little while trying some more but nothing doing.
Dad and I decided to hit West Bay and try to find a Red as the tide came in. As we were going out the wind laid down and it was beautiful. Just no fish biting. I was afraid we were going to get skunked but dad saved us with a huge sail cat. Hey, we'll take it!
