St. Marks 11/12/07

Post by birddog »

Tom Keels, my friend James, and I launched from the LH around 8:00. We headed out into the rising sun. We spent a couple hours drifting for trout well offshore due to the low tide. Big T picked up 3 fat keeper trout slinging the cork. James landed a throwback or 2 and I was sucking hind tit.

When we had enough water we moved into a transition area between the flats and the creeks. Made several drifts through some beautiful bottom but not many fish. James picked up another throwback and I lucked into a nice fat keeper trout.

After it was evident there were no trout for 100 miles around us, we decided to go in search of the mighty red. It started off slowly but we finished nicely on a school of upper slot reds.

Finished the day with 4 keeper trout and 14 reds. Caught the reds on the spoon. No photos due to camera operator malfunction.

Awesome day on the water with Tom and James.

Can't wait til next time.
