Fenholloway 11-17-07

Post by electric chicken »

Because WAM said so, i need to post a report. Me and Dad went last saturday and had the best day out on the water that either of us have had in a long time. We put in at 7 and had our limit of trout before lunch. Did not keep a trout smaller than 18 inches! After limiting on trout, we decided to hit the oyster bars looking for reds, but the boat motor had other plans. It would only run WOT! I removed the cowling and looked and saw gas pouring from the front of the carb, so we decided to baby it back to the landing and call it a day. We are planning to return this coming saturday and hit them again if the boat place can fix the carb in time. I took a pic of the fish before we cleaned them, I'll post it when i get off of work. P.S. IT WAS COLD SATURDAY MORNING!!!
I'd rather be lucky than good.

If you don't count the motor trouble that doesn't sound like a bad day.

Pearl white gulps under a ct in 4 to 5 ft of water was the ticket. That and squid in 45ft of course!

  WTG. Sounds like a great day out. Sorry about your motor, maybe it can be fixed soon. Pearl gulp has done good for us this year, too. Breambuster, Fenholloway is the river just south of Rock Island. Lots of oyster bars at the mouth. :smt004

That worked for me too (also flies and the 52MR).
Nice report. I had a nice morning Sun but haven't had enough time to load pics yet.
