ST. Marks 11/20

Post by Reel Slow »

Took longpole out to East Flats. Found a school willing to continue my training.

About 15 reds were in a very shallow cove, gin clear, no wind. Took a couple shots and scattered fish. That didn't work too well.

Let things calm down and the next cast laid a crab imitation on the mud, 10' ahead of a moving group of 5 submarines. Two twitches and a nice red turns out and follows, tips down and inhales

This one took off after I stabbed him and found the reel. Fun fight to land my largest on the flyrod thus far - 26" :D

Found scattered fish after that, had two takes, but missed the strike. A couple follows by some nice trout. That fly didn't make it home.

Fish were in creek mouths on fall, in creeks on rise.

Forgot camera  Can't wait till next time!
