Shell Point 12/1

Post by Reel Fun »

Departed Shell Point 8:30 into 2-3 ftrs from the east, wind 10-15 E. We were on my friend's boat, 26ft Pursuit, the wind and waves were no problem at all. Capt. Fred, friend Jim, and myself on board, headed SW. We fished 35-45 ft all day. Bottom fished at first with one keeper red grouper.....so, started trolling. First fish trolling a keeper King, then another King 25lbs...I was surprised by the size of this fish, on this date. Picked up 2 keeper gags trolling as well. We used stretch 30's, solid yellow was the hot color, the big King hit a red head. Bottom fished a couple more areas....got on a good bite 12-2pm....caught 5 more keeper gags to 30", many shorts, rock bass, and break offs. Started trolling in at 3:30 on very smooth seas, no hits after 45 mins, enjoyed a couple of 's, so.....time to call it a day. Total, 7 gags, 1 red, 2 kings, many shorts..... Thanks to Capt Fred for a very enjoyable day

Looks like a bunch fun to me I may need to change gears the offshore stuff looks like it's going off.

Them Kings didn't pull at all I'm sure!

Looks like a heck of a day.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

I haven't Shell Point since it was in probate. How is the marina? Do they have a decent ramp?

A pretty nice ramp w/dock. Watch very low tide for a drop off at the end. Other than that no issues. That place has surely changed over the last couple of years.............
PS-----No Marina at all.................
