In the water around 7:30. On the way a duck passes us from behind. I was commenting to Mr Greenjeans that she had to be flying 35 + mph. A few seconds later, an eagle passes us on the other side of the boat, and greenjeans says that one is too. Then the eagle accelerates and almost snatches the bluebill from mid air. Instead he forces her in the water. As we ride by, she has no interest in getting back in the air while the eagle is still around and just swims out of our way. Pretty cool to watch.
First fish in the boat was a large mullet on a gold spoon hooked thru both lips. Never had that happen before. After that, we caught reds for a while. Then as we lost water, we caught trout and rock bass for a while. Bite was slow and soft all thru the high. The only thing they would bite consistently was a jig fished slow on the bottom.
