Rodbow's probably on the right track... especially this time of year retailers are watchfull for stolen credit cards/debit cards, etc. May not have had anything to do with what he was buying but rather the method of payment.

They should have cuffed and printed him too for buying imported seafood at Walmart.

He paid for a whole talapia at walmart and got carded? Maybe the Food Network is planning a reality show kind of like the "What Not to Wear" series called "What Not to Eat" and he got picked as a contestant. :-D

I bought some wiper blades and a steering wheel cover at K-Mart the other day and paid with my bank card using it as a credit card. The cashier asked to see my ID and carefully compared it to my bank card.

When she was done I thanked her and told her I wished more cashiers were as observant and careful. In retrospect, I wish I had asked to see her manager and told the manager how much I appreciated the caution too. If all cashiers did this ID theft would not be a problem.

I agree. Not sure how he paid. Never thought of him using a check. I don't think I've written a check in 5 years.
