Quick Post-
Hail the Catch 2000. I had less than 2 hours to fish and found decent Blues on top and nothing else until the last 40min.
Two feet of water slow bumping a Chartreuse Catch 2000 over mixed bottom and the big trout couldn't leave it alone.
I caught 8 with none under 18 and the biggest at least 24". No Reds -seems usual for me.
To think I almost didn't go because I didn't have enough time.
With a kayak I catch more fish because I can fish more often.
It's a pretty simple equation.
It's sure fishing well at the moment, I was out for 4 hous today poled my way around the oyster bars east end and found.....NICE reds, went to turkey point yesterday! good day with reds but why should I bother on the trip when AP is coming up with the goods, saw 2 guys in kayaks today was that you?........very noisy they were, shouting accross at each other

Thanks there Wadley. I've been wanting to get back there but I was waiting for it to cool off. Guess I don't. I do know that the productivity (plankton on up) back there is amazing. That's true year round and I wouldn't expect it but it gets very good water exchange all the way to the "eastern" end.
Were you in the Alligator Harbor? I used to catch a lot of nice trout wading in there, but in recent years not so many. I was thinking maybe they up and left! Now that they've fenced off my old spot, I have tried another a couple months ago, but no luck....
