New Site Testing

Post by Tom Keels »

Hey folks,

I've been playing with the newest forum software over at what will be the new website home. I would like everyone to try it out and see how you like it and if you see any problems.

http://www.bigbendfishing.org/phpBB3/

This has an older copy of the database so anyone who has signed up since the end of November won't have an account.

Feel free to do whatever you like. Let me know if you have any issues or comments.

I already know about the Avatar sizes and some are squished.

Thanks!

I was concerned about the user id on the right instead of the left going off screen when I found another issue.

I purposely doubled the image size on the first image of this post

http://www.bigbendfishing.org/phpBB3/vi ... =3&t=15786

to make it scroll off the right of the screen. It kept the id and avatar in place, but only shows a portion of the photo.... which would mean everyone would have to size their images properly to show fully....

plus, I am not too sure I like the user id to the right. It just seems awkward....

I like the new format and fonts though....

other issues : No edit tab(I need that one)

No little camera icon to show which posts have photos

Dubble

The photo should look like this

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.

Thanks double, thats the kind of stuff I need to know. The edit tabs are available, I just don't have all the permissions correct I think.

Camera icon is an add on. This is brand new forum software, and there arent a lot of mods for it yet.

I'm like dubble on the left hand side id's.

Also, I didn't see a new posts button to just read the new posts like on this system.

Lots of blue too.

What software is that one?

All times are UTC - 4 hours
I couldn't find in the User Control panel how to change the time to
UTC - 5. The banner needs work.

other than that - aok so far.

It doesn't seem as "crisp" as this Forum, but that is probably due to the different paler colour shades.

Although there is a pale blue and white background to alternate posts, the difference between posts is not that clearly defined.
With some of the more extravagant signatures, the end of one, does look like the beginning of the next.
Once again its probably just the very pastel colours.

Its something that we can all get use to.
