A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
We used to use them on some test devices that we built for the Marine Corps...If you set them in soft metal that can spin if you try to over tighten the screw...I wouldn't consider them a structural fastener
Even in steel they may spin when you try to remove them. What are you wanting to use them on. I used large auto motive rivets to secure a grab bar to a gheenue subfloor once. Held strong for as long as I had it.
Iv'e put 100's of them in. Dont recomend the Alum. ones, as the threads will rip out with any strain or vibration Hav'nt seen any stainless ones and would'nt use coated steel in marine enviroment.
