The war rages on at the Warrior!

Post by What a mess »

Had three cancel on thursday and finally got a rider Captain Bobby the guy that got me started fishing in salt about ten years ago. The fellowship was great but the fishing was not. Pretty weather plenty of water but it never moved. I tried the new secret bait with some success. Most of the fish were shorts, four flounder, five reds and seven trout in 4.5 hours. Only three of which were keepers. Caught them all in the mouths of creeks or around the bars. The water was as high when we left as when we got there it really hadn't moved in two days. I had to get back quick for a Christmas party.

Saturday was a better day my brother in law drove in from the ATL. We picked up Redbelly in Quitman and left a little late because we didn't want to wait on water. Got there dropped her in and went to it, the water was moving and I was sure the fish would bite. I was right while it was not as awesome as I thought it could have been it was pretty good. Most were caught on hard baits either the silver and black Bite A Bait or Skitterwalk. Lost a few battles to hooks that bent on big fish or pulled loose. The Flounder that was caught was a keeper the rest were Reds and Trout plenty of each a lot caught by my bro in law. At one point many fish had been caught by the both of them and it looked like I might get skunked but I put on a clinic at the end with a keeper Red and a few Trout real quick. Very few fish were needing to be measured they were nice chunky 19" Trout with one over 20" some of the reds were shorts. All fish were caught in close bars bars bars and creeks mouths. It was Redbelly's 1st trip to the Warrior I would bet he will be back. It was getting low and dark all at once we skinned the rock at the entrance to the Warrior got on back and made fools of ourselves at "Sisters Place" in Quitman that was some good food Seafood and Bar B Que Buffet.

Redbelly liked the Warrior and really got into the whole big boat thing his fisrt ride in a skiff of that size.

Merry Christmas
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

It were fun on WAM barge! :-D Liked the structure of the area. Liked mah +20" trout on skitterwalk, and the red.

Surprised by the flounder on a dorky mullet. I thought Franky was gonna skunk us with those bite a baits, but we almost caught up to him!

Like Arnold said..." I'll be back" 8)
