St Marks 12/22

Post by Eerman »

Launched at the lighthouse at about 10:30...not much water but managed to dredge my way out. Dad's in town for the holidays and his Christmas wish was some redfish. Went lookin'...found a few. Nothing big but they were around in numbers. Landed six on the day. Dad whooped me with his 5 to my 1. Could have landed more if not for boat operator malfunction (i.e. running over the fish or into rocks) and time just not allowing it. It was chilly out there.

The monster of the day

Biggest of the day was probably 22-23". It was a good day for a cold, damp, Dec day. I'll take it.

You were fine. There wasn't a lot of wiggle room out there with no water to float in...The guy running the trolling motor was me with 2 shirts and 2 jackets on :-D

BD,

One swung and missed and one charged but turned his nose up at the double secret secret bait. All fishes were caught on da spoon very slow.

I was cranking it pretty good but the old man was whooping me so I slowed it down. Most were caught letting the spoon flutter down and almost sit still on the bottom. Also could have been the rocks I bounced off of getting in the creek and scaring every living thing within a mile. They were a little skittish.
