Pre-Chistmas Eve Fishing

Post by jsuber »

What a beautiful day today, somewhere. We went west to fish around Carrabelle inside the creeks to get away from the wind. Started the day with a small Redfish that measured 17" on a 1/4 jighead and DOA CAL Paddle tail in glow. I get them at Advantage Marine in Medart since they upped their selection of inshore baits. The Red was a fun fight but just did not make the cut. Next up was a nice 19+ inch Speckled Trout. Things were looking up as Josh landed one too. Then we picked up two more keepers. The rest of the day was 40-45 small Trout with a lot of vigor and mostly in the 14.5 - 14.75 range. Can't wait to meet them again next year. Josh picked up a keeper flounder working the bottom too. Not bad for an overcast day with extreme low tides, drizzling rain, 15-20 mph gust, and nope hope of seeing tide movement til late in the afternoon.
