A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 18:21
Hey, now we're talkin'. You surf fishers out there, let us former North Carolinians hear from you. What works for you on the beaches here? I know it's far different from the Outer Banks.
You asked what works here? On the gulf side, I have better luck with small circle hooks and small peices of shrimp. The fish run on the smaller side on the gulf beaches than the Atlantic. My favorite rig is a hi low rig with a 3 ounce sputnik on bottom. You can get by with a smaller weight most of the time if you are fishing close.
Thanks, Seachaser. I've tended to scale back a little on weight, too, because the surf is usually not so strong here. I'll have to look for some of the smaller Sputniks.
