12-29-2007 Hickory Mounds

Post by jsuber »

Pretty crowded on the Mound Saturday with all those yakkers out there. Nolefisher was there, and Capt Crunch, Cueball and 8ball and Waltdawg. It was very foggy, and warm. Could not see more than one hundred yards so we stayed shallow to avoid be speed bumps. Fished the outgoing tide in the morning and the incoming in the afternoon. I picked up 10 nice trout and 4 reds first thing. Trout were between 16 and 21 one after another for a while. Started catching them here and there after that to complete the day with 24 Trout and 9 redfish. I kept four trout and a red and gave them to my neighbor. He loved them. I think everyone caught fish but not sure what all they caught. Nolefisher had yet anothr slam and Crunch had one 22" Trout. I had a good time.
I love how the bronze reds are. Those gold spoons and DOA CAL paddle tails worked really good.

I couldn't see the shore 50 yards away. Let alone ducks. WAY too foggy, sorry. There were Mallards on the water at Wakulla Beach and a bunch of those ducks with the shite spot on their head. Sorry, I don't know that many ducks by site. Could be Goldeneye.
