12-30-2007 Wakulla Beach

Post by jsuber »

I went East and got into a monster 25" trout on a 1/4 Gold Sprite. What a beautiful fat trout. I had the camera in one hand and him in the other with the hook still in his mouth. Well, it shook and broke off my lure when it hit the water. TAKE 2. I put a small 1/8 Gold Sprite on and caught another 25" trout. I went for the camera cause I knew no one would believe my story with out photo's. It shook his head in the boat, threw the lure, and jumped out. I grabbed my Pink Skitterwalk and caught a Red, just to shake the dust off my mood. I ended the day with total of 10 reds, all on spoon. OH!, did I mention the fog, and the wind that picked up right after the two trout and the Red. It was bad. But a great day of Redfishing. Not bad for an old blindcaster like me.

Those trout must have seen the "Skoal" container and figured that there might me some residue on the lures - what with their "weak" mouths, they did not want to take any chances, so they spat them out !!!!
