With our first real cold front hitting us this last week, I've been looking forward to fishing this weekend. This is the best time of the year to catch redfish from a kayak. On Saturday I took the yak out fishing in the Panacea area. I fished the incoming tide from late morning to early afternoon. The reds were stacked deep in the creeks. After locating a hole next to a mudflat, it was game on. Seemingly every cast produced reds from 20 to 25 inches. It was so good where I was fishing, that I called my brother (FlounderPounder) and told him to throw his yak in the truck and come join in. An hour later, he was there and immediately catching fish as well, usually with double hookups. We jumped from hole to hole with the same results for the next couple of hours. We actually left the fish biting. For the day, I caught over 30 slot sized reds and Flounder Pounder easily a couple dozen. I think I'll go do it again tomorrow
Plenty of these
