econfina 1/06
i took a freind and his son out to chase a few reds and trout. we left out around 9:30 or so and eased down the river stoped and fished a few creek mouths. when we got out to the river mouth hit a fog bank. so i eased over to possum gap and fished it for awhile. as the creeks filled enough i eased up a creek that i knew would have fish. there where plenty of reds in the creek but could not get them to bit. we throw every color spoon i had. we tried 4 different kinds of gulp. after a little while we had scared most all the reds so we eased up into the creek and found schools of trout but could not get them to hit anything .

Sounds like my fishing last weekend. That's winter fishing, though--hit or miss
Re: econfina 1/06
You don't need a gauge, you need a water heater...just pump warm water in them holes and they start biting...works everytimeyellow dog wrote:i do not have a water temp gague on my boat but i am starting to think i should look into getting one
Re: econfina 1/06
I try that everytime out, multiple times per trip. Need to keep fishing to study its effectiveness.Reel Slow wrote:You don't need a gauge, you need a water heater...just pump warm water in them holes and they start biting...works everytimeyellow dog wrote:i do not have a water temp gague on my boat but i am starting to think i should look into getting one

That just means you'll have to go back ASAP and make sure them fish is still there, kinda like the census guy.

We were right there with you unfortunately with the same results.
