Bushwacking the upper Sopchoppy

Post by Talltails »

I met Suber over in Panacea, and we headed up river to do some winter recon. We paddled several miles into some really skinny water and fished the cuts and pools. We caught a couple dozen slot reds--some upper slot. After the drizzle stopped this morning, it turned into a nice day with very little wind. This is a great time of year to explore the back country. The payoff can be very rewarding.

Suber's 27 inch red

I thought that was a WWII-era kayaking helmet.

  on the fishing guys! We did some good recon today as well but couldn't get em biting much. Might use the canoe tomorrow.
