I know the red fishing is great in some areas right now.....
but....what is the water temp when the flats really really bust wide open???
I usually make my first trip the second or third weekend in March,,,by that time the trout seem to be getting really "crunk" up.....but what does the temps need to be when the other fish like the blues and ladyfish (alot of fun) start to show up in good numbers????
last year the sheephead fishing at the Stienahatchie reef was "off the hook" when we was down during the second week of march (I only have a bass boat and didnt go out that far)....
and the trout and reds were in the shallows, but not much of a variety other than the flounder I caught.....
what is yalls opinion on this???? I want my brother in laws to have a good time (their first trip)

Usually the last week in March/first in april is when the Macks and Blues start to come in good numbers
You’ve reached middle age when all you exercise is caution.
Re: water temp question......
Hedge your bets and wait until later in April. No good reason, fish wise, that I could think of.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
