Hot Water Canal, West Bay

Post by 7M »

This area is catch and release only? So what are the boundarys? I fished there today but didn't see any signs out in the bay. Water temp 78 degrees. Can anyone provide a "Link" about rules and regs for the outflow canal? Thanks, 7M.

Keyword is marine fish...you can't go in there and catch anything and take it out, including pinfish...Also it's advised not to bring fish you caught somewhere else into there as well or you will get ticketed...I hear the FWC likes to sit in a deer stand and take notes and radio another boat near by of your activities :o

Thanks guys! It is good to see it in black and white. We were having a slow day on the water yesterday and it was good to feel something pull on the rod. Caught a nice red and some trout and released everything, of course. One fisherman fought a large Jack for serval minutes until it broke his line. The place was loaded with giant sting rays. Some had to be measure 4 feet across.
