Me and the partner will be putting in at the fort and heading east in the go-devil. Will be throwing Zoom Super Flukes and Spooks. Trying to catch a few fat boys and head to the hill.

I'll make plans to go, but my partner backs out at the last minute. I'll go ahead and put in at the fort and head down to the lighthouse. I'll run way east to almost to the Aucillia. That is when I realize the steering is completely stripped out under the helm and I can't get the engine to turn any direction but straight ahead. At that very minute, the wind picks up 15-20 out of the west preventing me from push - poling and turning back east. Exhauseted from multiple attempts to turn the boat with the push pole, I call towboat and get a tow back to the hill. That's when I find out my tow insurance is no longer in force. :(

I soak it up, trialer it up, drop the boat off at the shop and head to the house late for dinner. Once home, my wife refuses to talk to me, I am baffled as to why. Later
I discover that It's our anaversary and I had made reservations at Andrews for dinner..... :-D :-D

Once the tide comes back in, we’ll fish in shallow around oyster bars and the grass in creeks. Snatch will catch one that’s about 26 7/8” on a topwater and I’ll catch one that is 19”, but with 26 spots. Mine will be caught on a light jighead with a 5” Gulp jerkshad.

We’ll drive back to the weigh-in and taunt jsuber and collect our winnings. :smt004

Me and mojo will be doing pretty much the same thing in a slightly different area, but the one red I keep will have 25 spots and be just shy of money. Or I will catch one that has 30 spots but is 17 7/8 inches. Mojo will catch over slot trout all day, and I will spend much of my time photographing those. We may or may not catch a keeper red. We will return to the water to eas our frustration after a weigh-in where we will come in dead last and I will promptly catch a 26 7/8 inch red with 52 spots weighing in at 7.75 pounds and a 9 pound sheepshead.
Mookbait! At least 401 times better than live bait!

As the tide starts to come in I will use this time to relocate from the river and run east 5 to 7 miles and fish along the hill. Here I will throw top water until the tide has risen to about 2.5 feet. Then I will finish the day throwing my Jerk Bait.

I will post the fishing part of the report this weekend. :-)

Here is my report from Saturday.
Fished the St. Marks River as planned. Caught several trout and some of them 15" to 17". (No Reds)
At 9:30 (Expected low tide) we ran to the east. When we got there the blades of grass were still pointed off shore (Tide still falling). The tide didn't turn around untill about 11:15am (Very low tide at this time). As the tide started in we did to. We did get some action, one being a 21" trout. (No Redfish)

The tide did not come in enough to fish where I had expected. If I had prefished the day before I would have known this and would have gone to Spring Creek.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.

We were going to start at the Fort, but decided against it at the last minute. We put in at the Aucilla instead and tried to use the little bit of water that we had to target structure. We soon realized that this was not going to happen :o , so we put the trolling motor on low and began our slow push to the West. We boated our first red around 8:30 am  the fish was right at 25". Around 9:00am the tails really began showing. We put a 26" red in the boat around 9:30am.

As you mentioned, the tide didn't turn as early as we anticipated :smt009 and and we didn't catch our 3rd fish until around noon. From noon until around 2:30 the fishing really picked up. We ended up with a total of 8 reds, all really good fish, the big fish was caught around 2:00. The key for us was site fishing in shallow water, we never went deeper than a foot. Long casts were key, as the reds were extremely spooky. All in all we had a blast and are looking forward to fishing the next tournament.

Capt. Keyser, was it your boat my dog boarded at the Aucilla? If so, my apologies; he gets a little anxious when he knows we're going fishing, and Katie isn't always the disciplinarian with him that she sometimes is with me. Nice fish by the way.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

:smt005 Yep, that was us. No apologies needed. I think I recall Bryce saying that your dog getting on my boat was going to bring us luck. He is welcome aboard anytime!!! :-D

Time is running out,so we go to SGI bridge for a sheephead.Catch 1 short SH. Head back to the weigh in. Get there on time.
Eat lots of good food. Win a Falcon Rod in the drawing.
Can't wait 'til next time.
Man I love fishing.
Our plan almost worked. Instead of launching at the SM lighthouse we went to Cquarters to put in at Carrabelle.
We did catch a short sheepshead. We also caught a 2nd place redfish. We did make it back for weigh in. We did eat some great food.We did not win a FALCON ROD.
Still can't wait 'til next time.
See ya'll at Keaton.
WHOSE FISH IS IT?
