Lake Hall - Feb 10

Post by Terrier »

Another slooooow day on Lake Hall - 1 dink on a senko. The water is still very low and very clear. The good news is that I saw a couple fishing for bream do pretty well and I saw a gentleman catch a few specks (at the ramp he said he got 10 total). It looked like he was trolling hal-flies in 10 -15 feet of water. Lake Hall is a different lake with the loss of about 4' in depth - much weedier; its much harder a crankbait or jerkbait. There are a few more gators around as well.

Hows the landing there? How wet are you having to get the truck to float the boat and is there any chance of keeping the back wheels on pavement?

The ramp is pretty low. I have a 12 foot lowe's V hull and I have to push it off of the trailer into the water - it won't float off. However with an extended tongue trailer you should do alright - the water there gets deep fast. I would check it out first before going.

It was maginal last summer. The deep water was just out of reach for my trailer then, but we could manage. I probably ought to stop by and look before I drag the boat down there. Thanks.
